Eli and the Mystery of the Hallowshine Dragon by Eva Cabanel

I found this children’s picture book on BookSirens in September, and it has lived rent-free in my brain ever since. The illustrations are vibrant, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing; and the characters and plot line are creative, chaotic, and unpredictable.

I would recommend this book for a second grader; the illustrations and plot line would be too detailed for a younger child, in my opinion. This book teaches children to care for people and nature, to encourage and support their friends, and to exercise empathy and understanding.

There are some errors in grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation, for which I deduct one star.

If you enjoyed Green Ember by S. D. Smith, you would enjoy this book.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
